The use of the original tracks from those games playing in those areas ties into the connection as well. This includes the open-world the player can explore being Station Square, along with one of the playable levels being the iconic City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2. That being said, there are still elements of that series in the game. While the title does bring to mind its primary inspiration, the creator has said it is not a full-on remake of Sonic Adventure. This Dreams creation was made by a user known as RichMenace_94, with it being titled Sonic Adventure: Dreams Edition.
